Sub 30!!

My goal was a 5k in leass than 30.  I did it today, right at 29 and some change!!!  It was also Donald's first one and his goal was 36, he came in at 35:40!!  Amy also ran and came in 2nd in her age division....however somehow the cards got mixed up and she was robbed of her medal.......:)

Friday night when I got home we went to the neighborhood park, mainly because it was not 455 degrees outside and the girls were CRAZY!!

 Yesterday Avie and i went to the mall.  The highlight of her trip is always trying on a "party" dress....like we ever go to "parties"....but she loves it.

At least looking at these made me feel better about myself now...I have come a LONG way!!

The flu

After having sick kids and being sick for over a week.....I think we are all better now!! Amelia started with it last Sunday and finally was back to her old self by Thursday....just in time for me to start felling bad.  By Friday night Avie was running fever, hers did not last as long as Amelia....and she acted 100% more crazy.  Yesterday she and I laid low all day at the house....she wanted me to curl her hair.

 then told me to take a pic of the back so she could see it.  Then proceeded to turn her head upside down and brush it....

 then crashed......I was able to get my long run in Saturday although it was not pretty....8 miles in 1:29.

Weekend away

Melissa and I left last Thursday to spend the weekend with the Walkers girls in Montgomery.  We laughed about the whole way there and pretty much the whole weekend.  We all have the same sense of humor so the same things crack us up!!  We did some shopping ,eating and organizing at Laurie's!!

We left Sunday morning after Church and were about 3 miles from the Church when Donald called and said Amelia had fever....this was not great since Anna had the flu the week before.  He was able to spend the entire day at Youthcare (which too many uninsured indigents use as their primary health provider!!!!!!!)....her diagnosis....flu.  REALLY in September....so she got loaded up on antibiotic and tamiflu, which is so expensive even after insurance I make her lick the cup:)  She was able to go back to school yesterday since she had been fever free at least 24 hours.  Hopefully the rest of us will be spared.

My training is going and going....I did run twice in Montgomery, so I was proud of that this week.....but not much else.  My heel has been KILLING me so I think my arch problem is flaring up....I have been wearing my brace some at night which seems to have helped some.  Our Academy is opening at the end of the month and I am pretty pumped about that....I know I live an exciting life!!  My half is in about 5 weeks so I am trying to determine what my goal should be....

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great long weekend.  Amelia had practice Friday night and a friend spend the night....I finally went in her room at 4am and told them to BE QUIET!!!!  My "long run" was only 6 miles on Saturday and I had a great time of 1:02.3, I tend to not keep a perfect pace outside but it goes SO MUCH faster than the dreadmill!!

 Sunday morning we went to Atlanta to the Braves game.  We take the girls every year and they just love it.

 We have really good seats right behind the Braves dugout....Amelia's dream came true she said because her Donald and Avie were all on the jumbotron!!!

 She was SO HOT......she said it about 57133545 times!!

 Thanks to FB we found out Emily Kate was there.  They went to preschool together....they were so excited to see each other!

 And our best friends Matt and Laurie....the girls were BEYOND thrilled to see them....and their friend Lindsay who Avie thinks is now her "Georgia" friend.

 Sunday night after the game the kids run the bases....we lined up after the 7th inning....if you watched the game you know Braves were losing 7-2.......you would also know they won 8-7.....thanks to Chipper's home run bottom of the 9th with 2 outs....yes we were those people that missed it.  Luckily Donald saw it because I was in line with the girls and 354054 other people by myself....

This is on the field, probably right after I got snappy with some mom who was letting her kids run all over including knocking into Avie....get your kids under control.  Sidebar.....not having your kids follow directions does not make them cute....it makes them brats!!! ok...done with that
