The Bobbsey twins were at Church on Sunday night, it is scary that they think alike, even there shoes were similar.... Chuch striking a pose.

Last Home Game
So today was the Lady Generals last home softball game, it was a double header. They needed to win both games to guarantee a spot in the State tournament, which they did.
Avie was ready in her dawg red.
Samantha (Karen's daughter) told Amelia that Jenna was coming so until she got there she about drove me nuts.

5 months....and a 5 year old
Amelia loves when it is time to get the pumpkins out, she she got all her animals out so I would take her picture. Avie is 5 months old today, I am pathetic since I did not even realize it until about 8:45....oh well. She LOVES getting a bath, we moved her tub into Amelia's and took out the net.

If I knew how to link to my post on 9/23/07 I would....but I don't so you can click under archives yourself. Anyway 1 year ago Amelia had the stomach bug....guess what she had today....hopefully it will not play out like it did last year and strike me and Donald as well. She woke me up at about 3am in serious pain, her stomach, so I went and laid in her bed and watched a movie, she tossed and turned and cried, and kept asking me to make her stomach stopped hurting. I asked all the standard stomach ache questions:
1. Do you need to go to the bathroom, I knew she did not b/c she had gone right before supper on Monday.
2. Do you think you are going to throw up, she said NO.
So we must have fallen asleep, b/c at 5:30 Donald calls my name b/c she has gone back to our room to throw up on our bed....how sweet.
She feels 100% now, same as last year lasted 1 day...for each of us.

The girls
This was before Church on Sunday. ok, I admit I just love pics of same age same outfits. Obviously Amelia had a LOT more hair, she was about 3 months in her picture to Avie's 4 months. Billye says Avie also has Donalds receding hair line.

Packing on the POUND
So we took the feather weight to the Dr this afternoon, she gained a whopping pound, exactly. She weighed 11 lbs 9 ounces. Dr Megow was pleased since she went from 3% to 4% on the growth chart, now I know that does not seem like much but at least she is going up.

Avie at Sunday School
Today Avie sat in her Sunday School seat by herself for the first time. Tonight she rolled over from her back to her stomach. Tuesday is the big weigh-in for Avie.

Community Fun Day!
Today was the first Community Fun Day in Dasher. It was kinda like a field day for the kids. Here is Amelia waiting for the "fun" to start. After the 50 yard dash. She won this ribbon, she was so proud of herself.

What do you think???
So Donald and I did the old weigh yourself then weigh yourself holding the baby. We think she weighs between 12-13 pounds. We go next Tuesday for the official weigh in. She is such a happy baby, laughs and smiles all the time. She had been waking up hungry during the night so we changed up her eating schedule and it worked last night, so we have our fingers crossed. Look at those thighs.

Yellow and In response......
Amelia's class has a discipline chart. Everyone starts on green then they can move to other colors with not so good behavior (yellow then red then as Amelia puts it in her scary trouble voice blue). So like on the 3rd day of school Amelia had to move to yellow b/c she turned the lights on and off in the girls bathroom and made all the girls scream. She said "I knew they were scared but I kept on doing it". Now while Donald and I thought this was hilarious we told her not to do that anymore. What is really funny about this, is that following weekend I saw Sara N, who had subbed and she said on Thursday(day after the moving to yellow) she heard screaming from the girls bathroom, so she went in there and said Girls you need to be quiet. As she was walking out she heard Amelia saw "Who Was that?"
anyway, so last night we were walking out the door to go to the Church and Amelia said I got moved to yellow. So I asked her what she did, as I am walking to her bookbag to look at what Mrs. Stacie wrote. She said, as fast as she could, that she was talking when it was quiet time. Well on her chart it said naptime misbehavior. So I asked her what that meant, this is her story:
It was time to get on her mat and Jenna (little girl in Amelias class, apparently her and Amelia for weeks have been planning when Amelia spends the night. I have tried to explain that Jenna's Mom has to invite her...)so she was at Jenna's mat and they were talking about the plan and Mrs Stacie told Amelia to get on her mat so she walked over to her mat, but then she said she had to ask Jenna one more thing.....if she had hot chocolate for the slumber party:)
I am flattered by being so popular, or as Donald put it after I read him the post and comments unpopular regarding my Hot Topic (thanks Ginny) issue. A couple of points:
1.) Laurie, I love you too, call me anytime at work and be nice, I would call you but I think it might be against the law.....and my standard question, when are you coming for a visit?
2.) To those that know me all to well (Nikki and Melissa) you got my point. And thanks for calling me and cracking me up a little bit more. I mean what better thing to do at work than socialize, I usually am just doing that with people in my office.
3.) Congrats to Nikki on I think the longest comment in blog history. ps-sending the water with Donald where it will end up.....who knows.
4.) Another one that knows me way to well, Cheryl. I agree about doing them justice by not being around them all day. If you would have spelled justice, justiss it would have been so cute!!
5.) I agree with you Terri that working aunts make for 100% smarter aunts. I mean look at Abby, Kayden and if Anna would stop eating crayons and markers.....
6.) You are right Tiffany we are not praised for it, so here today I salute the working Moms who are sacrificing time away from their children (whether they want to be or not) to do what they have to do for their family, whatever the reasons are.
7.) Technically Bev you have you have only been a Mom 31 years, 11 months and 9 days but you did always like to round up on the ages.....and you are right about opinions.
8.) You Jennifer took it the way it was intended from the "other side of the aisle". I am thankful for the stay at home moms who take an active role in the school (Nikki). They create, plan and get ready things for MY child that honestly if were left up to me probably would not get done, or not get done near as well.
9.) and last but not least Sara. It is probably my fault you do not know me well enough to know how I am. I am the kind of person who reads, reacts and then goes on with life none the better/worse because of it. My feelings are rarely hurt b/c things roll down my back usually with a good laugh. Which ask the people I work with drives some of them nuts. I know I have a way of getting under people's skin, but again just who I am. Not to be trivial but I said I do not begrudge stay at home moms, just the ones who think they or their kids are better b/c of it. About saying these before and it makes you wonder, I am a little clueless here so fill me in. My dream job in life is to be paid to do whatever I want, come in when I want do as much/little as I want, I have asked Butch and Trey to suspend me with pay, but they refuse. And yes I can look at Amelia and Avie and know no matter what happens in the future I have enough satisfaction in seeing their smiles to surpass any decision that I ever have to make in the future whatever it may be.
I have to work it is not a choice, I have to have insurance b/c of my diabetes, again not a choice. I work so Donald can teach at GCS and Amelia can go there and frankly before Donald and I ever even started trying to have Amelia he knew I would work.
I told Donald last night I think I would become the Michael Moore of the blog world. It is nice to have a good discussion about an issue we all have an opinion on. So I think I will wait on socialized medicine, sorry Laurie I'll email you, and next discuss who I plan on voting for and why, and keep the comments coming. Remember it is my blog, my opinion, my pictures, my kids, my thoughts, my ideas, and my memories. If you do not like it then don't read it. I assure you my thoughts, opinions, pictures, ideas and memories are not worth getting upset/angry over. I had some of the wittiest responses, but decided against those...trying to keep the peace.
Have a good day!!

High and Mighty....give me a break!!!
WARNING...some may be a bit offended...deal with it!!
This is to all the stay-at-home moms who think they are raising the smartest, well rounded, and above all else most loved children. To you I say, GIVE ME A BREAK!! I work, long days and long hours, I bring work home with me most every night...and guess what, I still love and take care of my girls.
My friend Billye (AT WORK) and I often talk about how many times working moms are looked down upon b/c we are not with our kids 100% of the time. Let me just say when I had Avie and was home for 4 weeks I about went INSANE!! I seriously have no idea what I am suppose to do all day long, yes I had the cleanest house, no laundry, cooked every night and stayed caught up on every news story to hit the waves....but where does that get you in life....When Amelia got out for the summer we about drove each other stark raving mad.
I am sure there were a lot of notorious people whose moms stayed home with them...some bad and some good, but how do you know it is the best thing for them. They could turn out to be a criminal or worse yet they could not turn out to be much of anything because they always had their Mom there to________(fill in the blank)
I do not begrudge stay-at-home moms, just the ones who think they are better because of it. I like my job, I like the time away from my girls (yes I just typed that!!) because it gives me time to appreciate being with them when I get off work and come home.
So in the end, are you a better Mom b/c you stay home, probably not. Am I better Mom b/c I work and provide for my family, probably not. Do you love your kids more than I do b/c you stay home, no.
"To each, his own." to me that sums it up, whatever works for you, but just remember the next time you make/hear a comment about how you think you are a better mom b/c_______, you might not like what you hear in response!
And when I get a chance I will have to blog about my "discussion" with the Rx delivery man, and his views on socialized medicine!!

St Augustine
So Friday afternoon we set out for Kevin and Lori's.
Here is Avie ready for her first trip to the beach. Here is Amelia excited and ready. We took my laptop so she could watch movies in the back, of course she went to sleep at about Lake City and I was stuck all the way in the back.
