Soapbox

Hopefully by the time I am done typing my blood will have stopped boiling.

I do not think I am one of "those" parents who think their child does no wrong and who comes to their defense at every moment....HOWEVER....when an adult, I am talking over 40 here, hurts a childs feelings do you know what that makes them...pathetic.

I am very up front and forward with people, those who work with me can vouch for this most, but in the environment of Amelia's school you can not always be this way because of the closeness and the relationships, plus Donald works there.

It is a sad situation when your child has their heart broke and does not understand why someone has been so ugly to them when they have done exactly what they were asked to do, and my only way to explain it to her is that this person was just not being nice, how else do you explain it. Maybe I am just spiteful but I think that is the only way for her to understand and be able to rationalize it.

Quite frankly I could have just punched the person and been done with it, but instead I was the bigger person and walked away....ok I stomped a little :)

Check-Up

Went to the Doc this morning, everything is fine, heartbeat was 153 BPM which according to every website based on that it is a girl. we will know for sure on Dec 17th.......as for that....we are deciding how we are going to find out and let others know. I think we should have the ultra sound tech write it down and then we will open it with Amelia, no she is not going to this appointment. However, Donald is not crazy about this idea....he is very easy to talk into things.....like the names now he is on board with me! I think that date is the same night as her X-mas program at school..so who knows how, when or where we will tell her and everyone else. I can assure you we will not wait to long and once she knows everyone will know.......

I added a poll to the side to see how many people think it is a boy and how many a girl.

100 days and counting

Today I am officially 100 days, according to the counter. We are getting ready to leave to go to St Augustine for Thanksgiving, Amelia is so excited she is about to drive us CRAZY!!!

On Monday we had Daisy put to sleep. She was over 15 years old and had terrible arthritis in her back legs which caused her to not be able to stand up all the way and fall quite a bit. Now Daisy had her aggravating qualities: she shed, I am talking like a small dog a day, we use to say she had shed a puppy, she barked when we would go in the back living room and not let her in, it has maroon carpet and a yellow shedding dog....not a good combination, and she loved to stay in the garage to pee....enough said. However as aggravating as she could be at times, she was always glad to see you come home, she loved Amelia and tolerated all her screaming and when she would act like a dog. She had such a sweet temperament and was always passive and gentle. She will be missed!!

The Weekend

Saturday was Donald's Dad's b-day, of course Amelia had to assist in blowing out the candles. As well as wear his glasses and drink coffee.

These are just a couple of pics from Sunday.

The Little General

Amelia is the little mascot for the basketball team at school. She was so EXCITED about tonights first game. She loves Jordan.

Here she is when they were calling the girls out, Carli had to keep putting her back in line. but she waved her pom poms.

Here she is when they called the boys out. The one below is when they did a cheer on the floor, she knew the number one part and then at the end she saw the big girls jumping so she did too...oh yeah Amelia can jump about a centimeter off the floor, of course when she did that the fans yelled jump again she thought it was the greatest......

Happy Birthday Chrissy!!!!

Saturday we celebrated Chrissy's 75th birthday. Elvis even made an appearance....actually it was Larry Stokes!

Sweet Caroline

Today Amelia and I went and met my friend Amanda's new baby Caroline. Amelia has been so excited about this all week. She got to to hold her for a little while, which she loved, and then she just sat and watched her while I held her. In other news.....

We have decided to move Amelia's bedroom to where our guest/junk room is now. She has picked out a lovely shade of PINK to paint the walls. As soon as it is done I will post some pics. To those who are interested we are going to find out what the baby is, and yes we will let everyone else know as well. People who find out and then will not tell quite frankly just get on my nerves..... While I know there are few surprises in life and not knowing until the moment is one, we have to find out for several reasons: I am not a patient person, we want to be able to be the ones to tell Amelia what the baby is, since I have to have another c-section I would miss the look on her face, yes I know there is video but it is not the same. And last and probably the driving factor, I want to know, that way I can be ready. That way if I see a cute boy/girl outfit I can buy it and not think well I might have to take this back. Also being the bargain shopper that I am, the store would probably not take it back.

We do have some names in mind, and yes once we find out what the baby is we will share that as well, I can guarantee if anyone wants to use it I do not care. They probably won't since one of them is made up.......little clue there and the other one I think I have only heard like twice....little scared.....Amelia and I are still working on talking Donald into the names. My philosophy on naming is the person who goes through the most physical pain gets to pick the name....notice I said physical

Randomness

Saturday we had a yard sale, I made about $82 big ones, luckily we were able to get rid of a BUNCH of things we did not want/use. Of course Amelia refound some items that she thought she needed. She bought a pencil from Robert about 15 times....with his money. Lisa did not want her pic taken this early in the morning.

Tonight Amelia set up our dining room table with the Thanksgiving decorations. For the past few days she has been telling us that it is Valentine's Day (??). We have tried to explain the order of the holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and then V-day, I think she has finally picked up on this. Of course at this point she keeps asking is Thanksgiving tomorrow, probably b/c she knows we are going to Kevin and Lori's for Turkey Day.

Doctor's Visit

I went to the doc today for my 12 week visit. I heard the heartbeat, which for me is always reaffirming. Other than that that is all. I go back in 3 weeks on the 26th.
